WHAT DOES THE 'Q APPROVED HOSE ASSEMBLIES' SCHEME SEEK TO ACHIEVE

The 'Q Approved Hose Assemblies' scheme is designed to assure the customer/end user that they have received hose assemblies from a supplier who has been inspected and approved by the British Fluid Power Distributors Association. The scheme also seeks to assure your new and existing customers that quality matters and that your company is dedicated to this goal. Finally, the scheme to put an end to the dangerous and illegal practice of re-ending hoses. One of the greatest threats to businesses today is that of litigation, where plaintiffs claim to have suffered injury or harm, especially in the workplace. Such claims when they arise are difficult to resist. Re-ending hoses is now illegal across the European Community. Those who continue to do it will find themselves in Courts unsympathetic to their plight pursued by lawyers who have much to gain for themselves and their clients. 'Ambulance chasing' by some lawyers is a distasteful practice at best but it is very, very profitable. Hose manufacturers in the UK can help curb growth in this sector whilst raising safety standards across the industry. Join the 'Q Approved Hose Assemblies' scheme NOW! Membership of the scheme is open only to hose manufacturers who are members of the BFPDA which is affiliated to the BFPA. If you are not yet a member of either organisation you must give very serious consideration to joining. You may then apply to become a member of the 'Q Approved Hose Assemblies' scheme. An applicant's production facilities, procedures and practices are inspected every two years. Those who are awarded the 'Q' mark must maintain the standards which resulted in their membership of the scheme. The 'Q' mark must not be seen as a quality certificate or guarantee of the hose assembly itself. It is an acknowledgement that the hoses are manufactured by a company who has met or exceeded the requirements of the BFPDA inspection team. It is a mark of pride awarded only to the best in their manufacturing field.
