The BFPA have for many years been passionate about raising standards within the fluid power market and industry as a whole, with this objective in mind we have created a suite of valuable training courses that have been developed by utilising the knowledge of industry experts, so no matter what industry you are associated with be it: Construction, Marine, Agriculture, Offshore, Renewable energy, Rail, Mining, and many other industries these training courses from the BFPA Training Academy will be relevant for you or your employees.
By establishing these training programmes aimed at raising the awareness levels of people who work with hydraulic and pneumatic hoses at all levels: from the system designer and field engineer, to the machine operator and the person who actually makes hose assemblies. The BFPA Foundation Safety Course and the practical workshop-based course titled the BFPA Hose Assembly Skills Training Programme, which takes the basic foundation level of knowledge and trains the individual to a fully assessed level of ability in hose assembly techniques. Additionally we have recently introduced the Hose Integrity, Inspection and Management Course with the Small Bore Tube Integrity Course planned for release in the autumn.
Training courses are available throughout the year and can be provided either direct from the BFPA or through one of our associated training partners, which ever avenue you take we are sure you will be delighted with the outcome.
This course has been developed to provide an introduction into hydraulic hose, connectors and the safe assembly of these components for industry use. The course is classroom based, during the day the attendee will gain a knowledge and understanding of safe hose assembly and if applied will only enhance the safety within the hydraulic industry and the attendee.
The skills course will take the candidate through the many techniques and considerations essential for the safe production of a quality hose assembly and ultimately leading to installation. This two day course involves both the theoretical and practical elements in working with hose and connectors. During the 2 days the attendees will be trained and assessed to an industry level of ability in working with hose and connectors.
HOSE INTEGRITY, INSPECTION
This is the third BFPA training course in the series with the key themes covered during the one-day course include: hose life expectancy; risk analysis; competence by way of a robust competence assurance system; identify, inspect & record; hose register – recording of a hose assembly prior to it going into service; and visual hose assembly (installation) inspection check list. The attendees will be assessed during the day with the appropriate level of pass certification being awarded, e.g. distinction, merit, or pass.
SMALL BORE TUBING
This course has been developed by BFPA technical experts to give candidates a valuable understanding of the complexity surrounding small bore tubing and compression fittings, The training course covers generic manufacturers twin ferrule compression fittings, thread awareness, tube and pipe differences and the preparation process, tube manipulation (bending) principles, common installation and routing techniques.
